Dry Ice Cleaning of Electric Motors

  • Eliminates risk of catastrophic failure
  • Non-abrasive
  • Non-conductive, moisture free process
  • Faster clean at a superior quality
  • Increased IR Readings

Due to electric motors proximity to production facilities and equipment, contaminant build-up can occur from oil, grease and product. If these contaminants are not removed, they build-up, resulting in a breakdown of insulation and bearing lubrication, and clogging of fans.

As a result, motors are unable to cool down correctly and start to function at high ambient temperatures. This results in higher energy costs and a risk of catastrophic failure and fire. Overheating of motors is also a key factor in equipment deterioration.

Regular cleaning of motors ensures equipment runs at optimum efficiency and increases its reliability and lifespan. Dry Ice Cleaning effectively removes contaminants from electric motors, minimising the risk of overheating, fire and catastrophic failure, and increasing IR readings.

The non-conductive, moisture free process is safe and effective for use on electrical equipment. The process easily cleans crevices which may be hard to reach with alternative  scrubbing methods, while the non-abrasive quality ensures no damage to any sensitive components, such as electrical cabling, or the motor surface.

Dry Ice Cleaning reduces downtime and results in a superior clean. The process produces no secondary waste, and so time needed for clean up is minimised and disposal costs of secondary waste are eliminated. As the process is moisture-free, drying time is not necessary and equipment can return to production immediately.

At Polar IceTech, we mobilise teams throughout the island of Ireland to provide this service.
