Surface Preparation with Dry Ice Blasting
High intensity Dry Ice Blasting is very effective for preparing surfaces including removal of scale and rust or corrosion prior to re-coating, painting, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), cosmetic finishings and coating or contaminant removal.
As the process is non-abrasive it will only remove paint or coatings where the bond is broken. Where the bond is peeling or cracked the Dry Ice Blasting will remove all coatings, such as paints, varnishes, plating, and heavy oxides. It is essential in NDT tests that the defects are fully exposed to the surface. Dry Ice Blasting, unlike other surface preparation methods such as sanding or grit blasting leaves no residue on the surface therefore ensuring all defects are exposed.
CONTAMINANTS AND COATINGS REMOVED WITH DRY ICE BLASTING:
- Dirt and Grease
- Rust and residue
